According to the counter on my blog, I've finally reached my 100th post. Yay! Apart from that, it's been an enormous week for me and I have been on hiatus for almost a week as I've been too busy and that I've been terribly ill at the same time.
I'm sitting here cringing in pain at 5.15am here finishing my lab report to be submitted in the morning for a lab I didn't even attend but my signature was conveniently signed on the attendance sheet. I've had 3 tests and 2 quizzes this whole week of which I missed one test which would total it up to 4 but I'm only taking it during the exam week.
With having to go back for my mom's shop having it's official launch, I was busy during the previous weekend and had to endure high fever the day after which forced me to stay at home and delay my trip back to UTP causing me to miss one of my tests.
My finals start on the 27th of December and ends on the 5th of January but I won't be having my 4 months break like the rest of my batch as I will continue with my extra semester here. So, that means I will be studying for 32 months straight. That sounds good.heh.
Also I've uploaded a bunch of new pictures on my facebook so do check it out if you want to.. here

Touche
I feel like crapping about random things at 5:46 a.m.. I don't know where exactly I'm going with my life right now because I feel as though I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. At least I try to get my life organised by buying myself an organiser, which I left at home and forgot to bring back to UTP. So yeah, my life's in a mess right now. It's past the middle of the semester now and I am so not ready for the finals yet, which is in the first week of January.
Apart from that, parents always seem to always want the best out of you but most people don't see their true intentions. They seem to be pushing you way too hard and you don't seem to know the reason and think it's not possible to go any further but your parents know you well and know your potential. Although, there are some over-achieving parents wanting their child to get A's all the time but then again all they really want you is to be happy in life. Some parents may go to the extremes to put you through this but know that they only have the best of intentions for you to succeed, not just in education but also in your social life. They only want the best in you so trust in what they do and hopefully you'll achieve what you want in life, whatever that may be (not a serial killer or a rapist though, no parents ever want that unless they're psychos too).
We have to be grateful in what we have and had in life and most importantly what we don't have. It's the most important and ignored aspect in life that people most often forget and consider unimportant. We have to be grateful that we don't have something worse than what we already have. For example, when we fall down and bruise our knee, at least we didn't break any bones RIGHT? I don't really know where i'm going with this but you get my point right?
Okay okay so there's this new viral video going around the internet that was released on November 18th and within 2 days, it has already reached 7 million hits..
So many dumb ways to dieeeeeeeeeeeee..
It's so bad, It's catchy.. T_T
scribblings and laments until next time..

Lethargic
I've been on hiatus the past few weeks, but for no obvious reason. I don't know what's wrong with me, I've had a lot to update lately but I've been so lethargic and lazy. I had several events under my belt this semester but I only concentrated on the biggest one yet, Discover PETRONAS.
This event is organised under PETRONAS itself but since they are at KLCC, they pushed the task to UTP and the students as the committee for the event. It is directly organised under the Society of Petroleum Engineers in UTP (SPE-UTP-SC) but the application for the committee was opened to all students. As expected, I enrolled and interviewed for the Promotion and Publication department and got the post of Head of Department. I'm the youngest in the board of committees so I feel as though there's a lot of pressure on my half since I have to keep up to the standards that they expect of me. I don't want to disappoint anyone and I know I can do my job well (I hope).
I'm in charge of designing the posters, banners, buntings, lanyard, website, videos and montage to promote the event as well as publicise it through the network media. I hope my committee can cope up with their tasks and not slack in their studies at the same time.
So far, the events I've joined hasn't affected my studies in any major way. I've always been able to work things out even if it's until the last minute but I don't think this success will last long going deeper into my undergraduate studies. The subjects are going to be tougher and more difficult and I don't think I can cope with it if I keep on joining events. So, I'll stop joining any events in my second undergraduate year apart from my UPAG performances.
UPAG (UTP Performing Arts Group) is UTP's world-renowned dance group. We've performed on every stage from university-level up until the international stage. Further accomplishments can be googled on the web, it isn't hard to find their accomplishments. I've joined them since last sem and enjoyed every minute of it.
I'll update more when I feel less lethargic..lol
Ciao!

Cat traps
I just find this so amusing because it's true, boxes attract cats!
and this video certainly proves that point..
I have a certain fondness towards cats since I was young, especially Scottish Folds. They're typically good-natured and adjust to other animals within a household extremely well. They tend to become very attached to their human caregivers and are by nature quite affectionate. They are known for their playfulness, affection, and are intelligent, loyal, and adaptable to home situations, people and children.
and this video certainly proves that point..

Incredibox
Lately, i haven't been doing much and wandered around in the cyberworld during my free time..and one fateful day, I happened to stumble upon this awesome site, it's called Incredibox! (If you wanna visit it, click the link) It lets you be your own composer with a limited set of rhythms, which is still sufficient.
The thing is, no matter whatever combination you make, it would still sound nice but that still wouldn't make you a real composer.LOL. Everyone should really try out this application because it's so easy to use and you can make your own songs with it.

Memes
I get really irritated when people pronounce memes as "mee-mees" instead of meems because that's supposed to be the proper pronunciation, MEEMS! For God's sake, at least learn to pronounce it right before telling everyone that you know what it is but in fact you don't even know the basic meaning of a meme.
Here's the breakdown, according to Wikipedia, a meme is an idea, behavior or style that spreads from person to person within a culture. It can be transmitted from one mind to another through writing, speech, gestures, rituals or other imitable phenomena.
Which I completely agree with because a meme doesn't have to be only about pictures on the internet, it can be about anything! It could just be an idea or a drawing that spreads from mind to mind, hand to paper and becoming popular through a culture.

AIESEC
I recently joined an international organisation called AIESEC in my university. Present in over 113 countries and territories and with over 86,000 members, AIESEC is the world's largest youth-run organisation. Focused on providing a platform for youth leadership development, AIESEC offers young people the opportunity to be global citizens, to change the world, and to get experience and skills that matter today.
Their line of authority is quite interesting. Their headquarters is situated in the Netherlands and is run by youths for youths. There, they decide on the virtues of AIESEC and set the goals intended to be carried out for a certain period of time. From there, it branches out to each continent, having its own committee running activities within each region and ensuring the right branding of AIESEC so it won't get misused. Moving on, each country has its own Member Committee running all the Local Committees in certain universities and higher-learning institutions throughout the country. It is currently present in 12 universities in Malaysia.
Within each Local Committee, there's 9 main divisions. I'm currently situated in the communications division being in-charge of multimedia.
AIESEC has 4 programs running all year round which is divided into 2 categories, Membership and Exhanges. For membership, there's the Team Member Program (TMP) and Team Leader Program (TLP) which is self-explanatory. As for the Exhange programs, there's the Global Internship Program (GIP) and Global Community Development Program (GCDP). GIP is for those that want to participate as an intern in a company of a foreign country.
Annually, there's over 500 conferences held by different countries all over the world, so there's a lot of chances to be connected globally. I see AIESEC as more than just a platform to better myself in terms of personal development and also to harness my people skills which I really lack, it's much more than that. I feel as though i'm a part of something bigger, a life-changer, a leader, family.

wallpaper
I just got myself a new wallpaper for my desktop :3 it's a picture of a kitty with a gattling gun, courtesy of theoatmeal.com. They have awesome stuff on that site and it inspires some of my own works.
58%
I just found out that 58% of my course failed last semester's Ordinary Differential Equation class and that over 200 students from the whole intake failed as well. So that pretty much tells me that I am in that majority because most of my smarter coursemates barely passed their paper and that means I had no chance from the start.
I'm not blaming my lecturer for this but technically, he was pretty bad in teaching us. When he speaks, the students can barely understand what he was saying and that causes communication problems for not just international students but locals too. And the best part is, he's teaching our class again for this semester in Vector Calculus. How fun will that be? I guess i'll have to find another class to attend during my free time to ensure I get a better understanding of the subject so history doesn't repeat itself. I have yet to find out whether I truly failed or not, I'll find out tomorrow because I have no classes on Friday for now but when labs and tutorials begin, i'll be extremely busy all week along.

Back to the jungle
Well, now I'm back in the jungles of Tronoh after a fortnight back in Penang for my semester break. It's funny how UTP's administration organises our breaks and holidays. At most, we only have 2 weeks for any given semester break and only 4 days for mid-semester breaks (unless you make your own holidays). And for every 2 semesters you study here, you get one whole semester off for your break. To put it in simple terms, after the second semester for each degree year, the third semester is the break. 4 whole months of holiday! I don't even know how to spend my 2 weeks of holiday, let alone 4 months. I'll die of boredom! geez, looks like i'll have to start looking for a job now since I only have slightly short of 5 months left until my semester-long holiday.
I'm in my second semester of my first year now so there'll be much tougher subjects compared to the previous semesters. These are the subjects i'll be taking for this semester.
It's not going to be easy, but i'm pretty sure i'll strive through it like I always do but the thing is, I will try to aim for a higher target because i'm getting pretty complacent with my current stature and i'm not exactly proud of it, i've been slacking off slowly but I know that i'm not being true to myself. New semester, new resolution, 1600 x 900 this time..lol.. geddit geddit? oh neverminddd...
So umm yeaaahh, i'll be studying much harder this semester and try to prove myself wrong, therefore, i'll be disappearing more often this semester. Wish me luck okay?

New Toy
I'm getting myself a new toy this weekend..ohoho.. but I haven't gotten it quite yet. Basically, these are the specifications for my new PC that I ordered yesterday.
Processor - Intel Core i5-3570K Processor LGA1155
Motherboard - Gigabyte Z77M-D3H Intel Z77 S1155 M/B
RAM - Kingston 4GB KVR1333 DDR3 RAM
Graphics Card - Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 7750 1GB GDDR5 128-bit
Hard Disk - Western Digital 1TB 64M SATA-6
Casing - Cooler Master Elite 311 Chassis - Blue
DVD writer - Samsung 22x SH-222BB DVD Writer SATA
Power Supply - Cooler Master 460W Extreme Power Plus Power Supply
Card reader - AVF ACR-701 all-in-one Card Reader/Writer
As for the Operating System, I got myself an original Microsoft Windows 7 Full Home Premium. I could order the latest Windows 8 operating system but that system only functions best with touch-screen devices and it isn't as useful on a desktop computer controlled with a mouse.
I'm using the Logitech MK520 Wireless Combo which comprises of both mouse and keyboard that's connected to a single wireless dongle for convenience.
Last but not least, the screen is a Samsung 20" LED LCD monitor.
Hopefully everything is worth it and it'll at least last me a few years until I upgrade the components when I have a solid enough financial standing.

To hell with this,
To hell with that,
To hell with everything evil and bad.
I’m here to stay,
I’m here to say,
I’m not giving up,
as long as the song doesn’t stop.
-ahmad nazhan zulkarnain-
12
I’m sorry I lied,
Feeling as though I cheated,
myself;
Saying i’m contented,
When there’s a part of me,
missing.
A part not yet found,
A part sweet and sound,
To be my solid ground,
When there’s nothing else around.
-ahmad nazhan zulkarnain-
11
We’re like the sun and moon,
you and I,
we shine in our own way,
but with equal importance all the same.
Your warmth descends,
as my coolness transcends.
But when you departed,
my world, obliterated.
-ahmad nazhan zulkarnain-
10 and proudest..
You are my inspiration,
my deepest desiration.
Who creates fireworks in me,
Who I dream of in my sleep,
Who I think about in glee,
Who I imagine in me.
You’re who keeps me going,
Who keeps me sighing,
asking,
will it ever be?
Or will it remain a fantasy.
We’ll just wait and see.
As the ebb and flow of seasons pass,
for destiny to take it’s place.
One day, when I’m finally free,
I’ll realise myself,
whether it was meant to be,
you and me..
-ahmad nazhan zulkarnain-
9
Just another passenger in another man’s ship,
tagging along on his voyage,
not to help nor interfere..
Struggling to make my own decisions,
even the smallest,
could make the biggest
of impacts, so I’m scared,
and let others impact me instead.
Reactive, not active, I am.
Until I undergo mutatis mutandis,
I shall never captain my own ship,
destined to be condemned,
as the passenger in life,
MY own life.
-ahmad nazhan zulkarnain-
8
You feel asphyxiated,
nauseated,
when you know he pretended,
to get what he wanted,
leaving you isolated,
when he just departed.
-ahmad nazhan zulkarnain-
7
The blanket of white buries us deep,
Pitter-patter of tiny creatures are put to sleep;
The wonder of nature enters yet another phase,
One that leaves many amazed,
That makes many wanna leap.
-ahmad nazhan zulkarnain-
6
Sitting by the window sill,
reminiscing on days linked to the past;
pondering on decisions I could’ve made,
without regretting the ones I did,
while watching the seasons pass.
-ahmad nazhan zulkarnain-
5
What’s special about being number one, I haven’t a clue,
But whenever my name’s mentioned, everyone goes ‘who?’;
No matter what I think, what I say, what I do,
In the end, i’m still number two.
-ahmad nazhan zulkarnain-
4
I’m like any other being,
I’m no exempt;
Except for this one thing,
that can only be expressed through verse;
I realise, my mere existence is a futile attempt,
to make an impact on this universe.
-ahmad nazhan zulkarnain-
3
The gloomy sorrows overwhelm us deeply,
as time goes on it never does halt;
These hallowed halls were never meant to be,
as time goes on my heart turns to basalt.
-ahmad nazhan zulkarnain-
2
I wish I lived in a time when,
the words face and book were separated,
and things weren't so complicated;
And means of communication,
with its translations.
could be expressed with sheer imagination.
-ahmad nazhan zulkarnain-
1
Good riddance to the crow,
maybe I should've given him more;
For what he thought was H2O,
was H2SO4.
-ahmad nazhan zulkarnain-
Revamped
Since i revamped the blog, I feel like coming here more often to express myself rather than just keep everything to myself. Now i'll just keep the more intimate parts to myself, the parts no one else wants to hear or know..
At this point, I think i'll post up my poems here as well rather than leaving it in the archives of my tumblr where anybody rarely stumbles upon anyway. Keep posted on upcoming posts with my poems.
P.S. my tumblr, http://utterbollocks.tumblr.com

At long last
I'm currently pursuing my Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Hons) at Universiti Teknologi Petronas. It's located in Bandar Seri Iskandar, Tronoh, Perak. I'm already into my second semester now, considering I didn't fail any subjects from last semester.
The campus itself is quite impressive but mind you, it's not the whole campus that's impressive, only the new blocks are. The previous blocks used by USM before they moved to Transkrian, Penang are still being used as lecture halls and tutorial rooms for foundation students. The library is the pinnacle of the entire design, it's based on oil-rig platforms that seems as though they're floating mid-air..
I took my foundation studies here as well beginning on May 19th 2011 and ended on May 9th 2012 and immediately started on my degree program a fortnight after, no time for long breaks for me..
