I always have a lot to say and thoughts running through my mind at all times but I could never put the pen to paper, or in this case, fingers to keyboard. Whatever goes on in my head never comes out properly when I give it a second thought on whether to publish it or just keep it detained in that mind of mine (it rhymes, lol). Also, there's the fact that i've been on hiatus on my poems for over a year now as it's already the April of 2013 as of now. I've yet to come to terms with myself over the slaggish (slacking + laggish) attitude the past few months. Maybe one day i'll finally realise what needs to be done..boff

The second time you fall in love with someone, you’re going to feel so relieved. When you get your heart broken for the first time, you can’t imagine loving someone else again or having someone else love you. You worry about your ex finding love before you do, you worry about being damaged goods. And then it happens. Someone else loves you and you can sleep well at night.

The second time you fall in love with someone, it’s going to feel different. The first time felt like a dream almost. You were untouched, untainted by anyone. You accepted love with wide open arms and desperation. “Love me, love me, love me!” So you did. And then it fell apart and left you shocked to the core. You realized that people could be cruel and break your heart. You realized that people could stop meaning the sweet things they said to you just yesterday. So when you go into it again, you’re going to keep in mind everything that you’ve learned. You’re going to say, “Love me, love me, love me…until you don’t. In which case, I would like some advance warning. Thanks!”

The second time you fall in love with someone, you’re going to compare it to your first love. That’s okay. That’s natural. You’re going to be studying the new love with judgement and wariness. “My ex never liked broccoli. Why the hell does this one eat so much broccoli?!” Discovering that you have the ability to love multiple people who are different and feel different is initially very jarring. Loving an unfamiliar body will leave you disoriented and in dire need of a map. That’s okay too. That’s to be expected. Just ask the new love for directions.

The second time you fall in love with someone, you’re going to suffer from a bout of amnesia. You’re going to poke and prod at your lover’s body and be like, “Wait, how do I do this again? How do I love you? I think it starts with us having a moment together in some coffee shop, right?” It’s going to feel scary at first. Falling in love is sort of like riding a bike though. You never really forget.

The second time you fall in love with someone, you’ll be a more sane person. Your first love is when you get all of your insanity out. You behave like an insane monster because your mind is freaking out about all these new powerful feelings. By the second time, however, you have an idea of what works and what doesn’t. It’s by no means perfect. The insanity will make a cameo at some point. “Peek a boo. I’m here! Hope you didn’t forget about me!” But you can usually shoo it away after awhile.

The second time you fall in love with someone, you will hopefully have better sex. Do not quote me on this.

The second time you fall in love with someone will still be exciting and you might even talk about moving in together or marriage. It will feel more “adult.” You have no idea what adult love actually is but you think it involves making coffee for each other in the morning and maybe even getting a dog. “This is my dog, Xan. I got him with the second person I fell in love with because that’s what you do! The first person I was in love with would’ve killed a dog.”

The second time will not be the first time. The first time is an insane magical life gift that you can never reclaim. But that’s okay. The second time is more real anyway. The second time can involve some amazing love.

 

FESCO 2013 workshop

Okay, UPAG just got back from an overnight trip to UNITEN for the FESCO (Festival of Colours of the World) workshop. UTP has hosted this event since 2008 and it was held biennially up until this year due to the massive response from participating universities and institutions. It's a local dance competition held in UTP to showcase traditional dances from all races and religions within Malaysia. Sometimes joined by international countries such as Thailand and Indonesia, we really have great publicity even outside the country.

We had a convoy of 3 cars leaving UTP at 7am for The Lost World of Tambun for the UTP Family Day where we had to conduct a flash mob using We're All in This Together from High School Musical, too bad there's no video for this. Left Tambun at 1pm for KL and everybody was awfully tired after the morning performance that the primary drivers had to opt for their backup driver except for me .-. reached KL at 5 and lepak-ed at Midvalley Megamall for like 2 hours before heading to UKM where we bunked overnight for like RM12 in rooms with fans that had a maximum speed of 2 eventhough it was pointed at 5.. T_T

Left UKM for UNITEN at 7am again and prepared the lecture hall for the workshop. This year's theme for FESCO is "Malaysian New Creation Dance" of which participating teams had to create new dances based on the aspects and foundations of traditional moves. Even new songs had to be made to earn extra points as it is essential for this new type of dance. This year, we're having 15 teams participating in the competition.

Workshop was divided into 2 segments, theory and practical. Everyone sat in the hall listening to the lecture given by our guest speaker, Abdul Hamid Chan. After lunch, the practical session was conducted between all the attending teams. Each team had to come up with a few moves depending on their new idea for a dance and the basic traditional dance they based it on to test everyone's understanding of the concept and idea of the whole theme of this year's competition.

Headed back to UTP at 6pm and only reached at 10pm because we stopped for more than an hour at Tapah to have dinner.

Fall For You - Secondhand Serenade

I still dub this song as my favourite of all time. I guess I don't have many logical reasons as to why it is my favourite but just because it is. Perhaps because of its sentimental or nostalgic value to me, i'm still not sure. I guess that's how love really is, inexplainable. If you really love something or someone, you have no reason as to why, you just do! It's one of life's guilty pleasures apart from good food I suppose but it's a dangerous one. When you do fall in love, it's just as easy to fall out of it and more often than none, at least one side gets hurt through the process. Also, there's the poeple trying to prod into other people's happiness, they should be killed with fire in my opinion..

UPAG in Taiwan 2013

After coming back from Taiwan, i've been on hiatus for anything other than anything on-going in UTP and outside the realm of the Internet. I have been meaning to update on the trip to Taiwan for quite some time and finally got around to writing it.

We went for a total of 5 days only, from the 22nd until 27th of March 2013. First stop was Hsinchu county. Our hotel was modest and served very mediocre breakfast, sadly. Its name is Left Bank Hotel, I can't figure out why it was named so. We were there to perform with the Chinese Orchestra from Kedah consisting of three secondary schools for the Annual Taiwan Lantern Festival which falls aptly after the celebration of the Chinese New Year.

On the third day we shot off to Taipei by taxi and performed for the last time in the Chinese Cultural University. Too bad no one had the opportunity to record our performance on both occasions. So i'll just let the pictures do the talking..

 

Forsooth, I shall update

It's been 18 days exactly as to when I last posted anything on this blog. So i'll just put up random pictures to accommodate for my absence. I've been meaning to divide my time well this semester but it just didn't happen as I can't even find the time to divide my time because i've been playing DoTA 2 in the middle of the night in the past few days to relieve stress. I don't smoke, drink, do drugs or go on rampages of random violence, so i have to find other means to deal with the aggravation.

My mood's been pretty down these past few days and nothing, I mean nothing's been able to bring back any positive thought into me. Stress, depression, anxiety. Everything seems to be hitting me and hitting me hard. So I listen to this song to suit the mood I suppose.

This week's song would be a remix of the song The Island by Pendulum done by Swedish House Mafia in their album Until Now. I kind of got addicted to the song now.. 

It starts off really slow and boring, I'd have to admit but I recommend listening starting from 1:37 ! The beat really gets into your brain after a while. As SHM said, What are you waiting for?

Follow Me - Uncle Kracker

As promised, the song stuck in my head this past few days would be this, Follow Me by Uncle Kracker which released way back in 2001 which is, believe it or not, more than a decade ago. How time flies by so fast without us noticing so. The song's also known as "The Cheating Song" for obvious reasons. (Hint: lyrics) duh..

RAM

So yesterday I indulged myself and treated myself with new toys.. :3 got myself a new RAM disk, 4GB Kingston DDR3 Hyper-x and also a new Logitech Rumblepad F510 because the bluetooth version is more expensive and also troublesome as it runs on batteries and can easily run out of juice.

Rojak

              I guess I've put it off for too long, I finally went out for my triple movie marathon  thanks to Liyana who thankfully agreed to endure this torment with me. It wasn't that bad after the first but as we got to the last one, drowsiness prevailed. Even for me, a person who's insomniac for more than half a year at most times, I felt tired after 3 movies. Now imagine how it'll be for me if I wanted to go for the 4-movie marathon? It'll be one hell of a time for me to stay conscious for the last one but I suppose it'll be worth it. Well, you won't know until you try it.

              Apart from that, I've also been putting off putting up some pictures of events I had late last year or early this year. Instead of doing it one by one, I'll make a collage instead and put a list of events that occurred in 2012, one picture per event so it'll be easier to make. I'll upload that as soon as i'm done with it. 

              As for now, i'm still on my one week so-called semester break which only feels like a long weekend since classes are starting next Monday, such a drab. I'll try to be more active here on blogger since I made a pact with myself to stick to at least one thing this year and so far I've been updating this quite frequently and the number of my readers grow each day. Also, another one of my resolutions is to do make a weekly post on songs that get stuck in my head during that week by posting either the music video or the song itself here, hopefully..lol.

              Another thing, Leverage Season 5 came out late last year and it's really something. The new season really tests your ability to perceive information and make your own conclusions and sometimes assumptions, its a real brain-boggler come to think of it. I really enjoy these kind of shows that really makes you use your brain to understand the show, if you don't think right, you will never understand the show (unless you wiki the plot summary, which would be cheating and also a spoiler and you don't want to cheat, do you?).

              To top that all off, today I had tomyam in a mug because life's too short to go find a bowl! (Y)

32 months

Well, i'm on the 21st month of my 32 month studying streak in UTP since I'm forced to do a short semester come 14th of January. For the past 6 hours, I've been packing up my old room and moving to a better, cleaner room but the thing is, my new room is on the third floor! My previous ones are on the ground floor.

I'll upload pictures of the new room after i'm done moving, for now everything's a mess everywhere, new room, old room, car..it's just tiring to clean up a year's worth of mess. It's no wonder that my mom will clean the house every now and then just to prevent such mess from occurring and to prevent massive dust-bunnies build-up. There's so many dust-bunnies, people might think i'm rearing them illegally in the room.
