32 months

Well, i'm on the 21st month of my 32 month studying streak in UTP since I'm forced to do a short semester come 14th of January. For the past 6 hours, I've been packing up my old room and moving to a better, cleaner room but the thing is, my new room is on the third floor! My previous ones are on the ground floor.
(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

I'll upload pictures of the new room after i'm done moving, for now everything's a mess everywhere, new room, old room, car..it's just tiring to clean up a year's worth of mess. It's no wonder that my mom will clean the house every now and then just to prevent such mess from occurring and to prevent massive dust-bunnies build-up. There's so many dust-bunnies, people might think i'm rearing them illegally in the room.

AIESEC

I recently joined an international organisation called AIESEC in my university. Present in over 113 countries and territories and with over 86,000 members, AIESEC is the world's largest youth-run organisation. Focused on providing a platform for youth leadership development, AIESEC offers young people the opportunity to be global citizens, to change the world, and to get experience and skills that matter today.

Their line of authority is quite interesting. Their headquarters is situated in the Netherlands and is run by youths for youths. There, they decide on the virtues of AIESEC and set the goals intended to be carried out for a certain period of time. From there, it branches out to each continent, having its own committee running activities within each region and ensuring the right branding of AIESEC so it won't get misused. Moving on, each country has its own Member Committee running all the Local Committees in certain universities and higher-learning institutions throughout the country. It is currently present in 12 universities in Malaysia.

Within each Local Committee, there's 9 main divisions. I'm currently situated in the communications division being in-charge of multimedia.

AIESEC has 4 programs running all year round which is divided into 2 categories, Membership and Exhanges. For membership, there's the Team Member Program (TMP) and Team Leader Program (TLP) which is self-explanatory. As for the Exhange programs, there's the Global Internship Program (GIP) and Global Community Development Program (GCDP). GIP is for those that want to participate as an intern in a company of a foreign country.

Annually, there's over 500 conferences held by different countries all over the world, so there's a lot of chances to be connected globally. I see AIESEC as more than just a platform to better myself in terms of personal development and also to harness my people skills which I really lack, it's much more than that. I feel as though i'm a part of something bigger, a life-changer, a leader, family.

58%

I just found out that 58% of my course failed last semester's Ordinary Differential Equation class and that over 200 students from the whole intake failed as well. So that pretty much tells me that I am in that majority because most of my smarter coursemates barely passed their paper and that means I had no chance from the start.

I'm not blaming my lecturer for this but technically, he was pretty bad in teaching us. When he speaks, the students can barely understand what he was saying and that causes communication problems for not just international students but locals too. And the best part is, he's teaching our class again for this semester in Vector Calculus. How fun will that be? I guess i'll have to find another class to attend during my free time to ensure I get a better understanding of the subject so history doesn't repeat itself. I have yet to find out whether I truly failed or not, I'll find out tomorrow because I have no classes on Friday for now but when labs and tutorials begin, i'll be extremely busy all week along.

Back to the jungle

Well, now I'm back in the jungles of Tronoh after a fortnight back in Penang for my semester break. It's funny how UTP's administration organises our breaks and holidays. At most, we only have 2 weeks for any given semester break and only 4 days for mid-semester breaks (unless you make your own holidays). And for every 2 semesters you study here, you get one whole semester off for your break. To put it in simple terms, after the second semester for each degree year, the third semester is the break. 4 whole months of holiday! I don't even know how to spend my 2 weeks of holiday, let alone 4 months. I'll die of boredom! geez, looks like i'll have to start looking for a job now since I only have slightly short of 5 months left until my semester-long holiday.

I'm in my second semester of my first year now so there'll be much tougher subjects compared to the previous semesters. These are the subjects i'll be taking for this semester.
[ MPW2143 ] Islamic Studies
[ FCM1033 ] Vector Calculus
[ MCB1043 ] Manufacturing Technology I
[ MCB1033 ] Electrical Power and Machines
[ MCB1053 ] Statics
[ KKB1021 ] Modern Music I

It's not going to be easy, but i'm pretty sure i'll strive through it like I always do but the thing is, I will try to aim for a higher target because i'm getting pretty complacent with my current stature and i'm not exactly proud of it, i've been slacking off slowly but I know that i'm not being true to myself. New semester, new resolution, 1600 x 900 this time..lol.. geddit geddit? oh neverminddd...

So umm yeaaahh, i'll be studying much harder this semester and try to prove myself wrong, therefore, i'll be disappearing more often this semester. Wish me luck okay?
